WSOF 5: Derrick Mehmen knocks out Rolles Gracie GIF

If you remember last month we posted a GIF of Hyun Gyu Lim dropping Pascal Krauss in what was one of the most unique knockdowns in mixed martial arts history, well that was until tonight.

At WSOF 5, Derrick Mehmen knocked out Rolles Gracie. Check out the finish below thanks to Zombie Prophet of  Bloody Elbow.

Following the fight Mehmen had this to say,

“I’m a little disappointed in the first round, but then my corner calmed me down and got me going for the second, push the pace a little bit. I had a big problem with finding my range, but once I did, it felt good throwing punches on the inside.

“I thought I was going to be defending takedowns the whole fight. I think I defended one at the end of the first, so it surprised me a lot. It took me a while to get my wits about me.

“I’m just ecstatic right now. I’ve never had a one-handed quitter like that in my career, but wow! I want as many of those as I can get.

“I thought I was going to be defending a lot more take downs. It surprised me a lot actually that I only had to defend one.

“I thought he would press the pace more and I would just be defending, defending, defending.

“But this is the fight game, and anything can happen. You have to be ready for anything.”
