ROAD FC 013 Results: Nam Yui-Chul retains 155-lbs belt in main event

ROAD FC 013 took place on Saturday evening at the J.H. Park Stadium situated in Gumi, South Korea. The event was streamed online at http://www.ustream.tv/roadfc, providing fans from around the world an opportunity to catch all the fights for a price of $9.99.

The co-main event featured Welterweights Andrews Nakahara (4-2-2) and Jung Hwan Cha (10-6-3), in a match-up that produced fireworks from both combatants. Nakahara and Cha stood toe-to-toe in the ROAD FC cage, delivering uncountable strikes that made it difficult for the judges to score and render a winner. The match-up was hence ruled a draw.

Japanese MMA legend and staple Minowaman (57-35-8) had plenty of reasons to celebrate in his ROAD FC debut, delivering a highlight-reel knockout that sent his opponent, Kim Hoon (9-10-1, 1 NC), crashing onto the canvas. This was the 37-year-old’s 100th pro MMA bout, and he bagged a victory in style proving to the worldwide audience that he’s still going strong having been in the game for more than a decade.

Elsewhere on the fight card, “The Running Man” Min Song Jung (6-6) defeated former UFC vet Issei Tamura (7-5) with a third round choke, while Koji Nakamura (12-8-3) picked up a TKO victory over A Sol Kwon (16-8) in the first match-up of the main card.

Bae Yong Kwon (9-3) advanced to the ROAD FC Featherweight tournament semi-finals after gaining a TKO stoppage win over Kosuke Umeda (13-13-3). The other semi final bracket, which had Gil Young Bok facing Choi Moo Gyeom, was cancelled after the former failed to make weight for the contest.
