RUFF 11 Results: Bekbulat Magomedov halts Wang Guan’s unbeaten run

It was more than just a battle for RUFF’s 145-lbs title in the main event of RUFF 11.

Their unscathed records were on the line too.

China’s accomplished MMA superstar Wang Guan (12-1-1), entered the Featherweight title scrap with the support of his native country, against Russian Bekbulat Magomedov (12-0), who could have very well been fighting in the UFC if not for his obligations with RUFF.

RUFF 11 Results: Bekbulat Magomedov halts Wang Guan’s unbeaten run

In the end, it was Magomedov who topped his Chinese counterpart via Unanimous Decision after three rounds. Guan didn’t perform as expected and was rather disappointing throughout.

RUFF 11 went down on Saturday, November 30th, at the Hongkou Indoor Stadium situated in Shanghai, China.

Two other titles were up for grabs as well in a triple title headliner.

The co-main event saw Amu Rijirigala (8-2) defeat Zhang Meixuan (6-2) in a highly anticipated rematch. Rijirigala managed to avenge the loss he suffered back at RUFF 6 in 2012, capitalizing on an Armbar in Round 2. He also took home the promotion’s 135-lbs strap.

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu ace Rodrigo Caporal (11-4), meanwhile, successfully defended his Lightweight belt against promotional newcomer, Iftikhor Arbobov (10-2). Caporal, 30, is now on a seven fight win streak, and is a perfect 7-0 under the RUFF banner.

Popular Mixed Martial Arts referee Herb Dean also served as an official at the event.
