The speed kicked things off – Benavidez used some leg kicks, while Johnson threw in and out punches. Benavidez threw a few flurries rushing forward, but nothing to capitalize on. As Benavidez was looking to throw a punch, Johnson landed a short right hand that knocked Benavidez out cold. He followed up with four unanswered blows before the referee stopped the action.

The knockout made Johnson the first fighter to ever stop Benavidez.
