UFC Fight Night 34 Staredown Pic: Tarec Saffiedine v. Hyun Gyu Lim

The stage is set for Saturday’s UFC Fight Night 34 event in Singapore at the Marina Bay Sands Expo and Convention Centre.

For months, fans have been anticipating the UFC’s debut in South East Asia, and it finally comes into fruition on January 4th.

Former Strikeforce champ Tarec Saffiedine (14-3) faces Hyun Gyu Lim (12-3-1) in the main event, while long-time Japanese MMA veteran Tatsuya Kawajiri (32-7-2) locks horns with fellow UFC newcomer Sean Soriano (8-0) in the co-featured bout of the evening.

Fighters made their way to Singapore on Tuesday ahead of the promotion’s traditional “Fight Week” settings.

Check out the staredown pic between Saffiedine and Lim above.

Saffiedine, 27, has never been finished in his pro MMA career despite three blemishes on his resume. The Belgian will finally make his UFC debut after several months of inactivity since January, 2013. Lim, meanwhile, has made a staggering start to his UFC career, garnering two consecutive stoppage victories in the octagon. A member of the highly touted Korean Top Team camp, Lim looks to make it eight wins on the trot come fight night.

Also on the card will be the UFC’s first ever Singaporean combatant. Royston Wee (2-0) will be making history in front of his own threshold as he looks to triumph over a former URCC champ in Dave Galera (5-0).

UFC Fight Night 34 will only be available on the “UFC Fight Pass”, an online network that was recently launched by the promotion. Visit UFC.TV/FightPass to start your subscription today.

MMASucka.com will be on scene and reporting LIVE from the venue, so do keep it locked to the site for more news and updates.
