Former UFC vets Issei Tamura and Riki Fukuda among latest ROAD FC 015 additions

With the inclusion of a pair of Middleweight bouts and a Bantamweight match-up, May’s ROAD FC 015 card is shaping up to be the ROAD Fighting Championship’s best line-up yet.

A headlining bout between Joachim Hansen (23-11-1) and Seo Doo-Hwan (9-7) was recently announced by the promotion. Now, Issei Tamura (7-5) vs. Soo Chul Kim (8-5), Ikuhisa Minowa (59-35-8) vs. Park Jung-Kyo (1-5) and Riki Fukuda (20-7) vs. Son Hye-Seok (4-5) have been added to the mix.

Officials confirmed the match-ups with MMASucka.com on Thursday morning.

ROAD FC 015 takes place May 10 at the Chiak Stadium in Wonju, South Korea. As with previous events, fans can catch the entire card for USD$9.99 on the internet platform via USTREAM.

Former ONE FC champ, Kim, lost his strap to Bibiano Fernandes late last year before rebounding with a resounding victory over Motonobu Tezuka in his most recent outing. He is 4-1 in his past five bouts and has faced a who’s who of fighters to date, at just a tender age of 22.

Fresh off his UFC stint, Shooto veteran Tamura, from Japan, slumped to a three-fight losing skid in his ROAD FC debut against former Bantamweight contender, Min Song Jong. The 30-year-old has been on a roller coaster ride of late and will be looking to get some momentum on his stride come fight night, May 10.

The legendary Ikuhisa ‘Minowaman’ Minowa returns to the promotion to face yet another South Korean adversary. The 38-year-old marked his historic 100th fight at ROAD FC 013 with a triumphant one-punch knockout over Kim Hoon. He was last seen at IGF 1 just last week, where he scored an Achilles Lock submission victory to extend his current win streak to three.

Park Jung-Kyo plays the role of an underdog in this tilt. Although the 35-year-old has more losses than wins on his resume, he has faced some of the best South Korean and Japanese fighters across several divisions in his MMA career. He has racked up a 1-3 record in ROAD FC thus far.

Fukuda. 33, makes his second ROAD FC appearance. He scored a TKO victory over Kim Hee-Seung in his much anticipated promotional debut, and now looks to get his career back on track after a Jekyll and Hyde stint with the UFC.

With a resume that includes bouts against the likes of Soa Palelei, Vaughn Anderson and Denis Kang among others, ROAD FC veteran Son Hye-Soek looks to build off TKO win over the aforementioned ‘Minowaman’ in his last appearance. That victory also snapped a three-fight losing skid.

With that, the latest ROAD FC 015 line-up now includes:

  • Joachim Hansen vs. Seo Doo-Hwan
  • Issei Tamura vs.  Soo Chul Kim
  • Ikuhisa Minowa vs. Park Jung-Kyo
  • Riki Fukuda vs. Son Hye-Seok
