Andrei Arlovski re-signs with the UFC

After many top heavyweights have been derailed by injuries, the UFC has decided to bolster their division by bringing back a former champion. Andrei Arlovski has re-signed with the promotion, after fighting six years outside of the promotion. Dana White broke the news on his Twitter account on Thursday night.

Arvlovski has revitalized his career following his four fight losing streak between Affliction and Strikeforce. He has gone 6-1-1 since that rough stint and has now worked his way back to the UFC. Arlovski is  21-10-1 in his professional career.

According to Ariel Helwani, there are discussions that Arlovski’s return fight could be against Brendan Schaub. With Schaub’s last fight being in September and winning in dominant fashion, the match making is logical and could be added to a card that needs notable names.
