Dana White to meet with Gina Carano next week and “get that f—ing thing done”

It’s been a few months now that the UFC has been in talks with former Strikeforce Women’s Champion Gina Carano, but now UFC President Dana White has his sights clear and set on signing the former face of women’s MMA.

According to ESPN’s Brett Okamoto, White will meet with Carano next week and is eager to get the deal done.

“One down, one to go,” White said. “I’m going to meet with Gina next week and get that f—ing thing done. Next week, man.”

Earlier this week, the UFC signed former boxer and currently undefeated MMA star Holly Holm and Carano seems to be the next step for White.

“It’s just a matter of me and Lorenzo going to jump on a plane to Los Angeles, get in a room with her and her lawyer and get this thing done.” White stated.

Carano (7-1) has not stepped inside the cage since losing to Cris Cyborg in 2009 under the Strikeforce banner. The 31-year-old’s contract with Zuffa expired last month, but a potential fight with current women’s bantamweight champ Ronda Rousey is something the fans want.
