Ross Pearson steps in to take on Abel Trujillo at UFC Fight Night 45

Ross-pearson

With Bobby Green now taking on Josh Thomson at UFC on FOX 12, Abel Trujillo now draws Ross Pearson at UFC Fight Night 45.

UFC officials announced the change in opponents on Saturday.

Pearson (15-7, 1NC) is coming off a split-decision loss to Diego Sanchez and prior to that fought Melvin Guillard in a no-contest due to an illegal knee by Guillard. The Brit is 3-2, 1NC in his last six fights.

Trujillo (11-5-1) finished Jamie Varner by second round knockout at UFC 169 in February. Before that victory, he fought Roger Bowling in back-to-back fights. At UFC Fight Night 27 the two scrapped to a no-contest because Trujillo landed an illegal knee and Bowling was unable to continue. The rematch happened at UFC on FOX 9 with the “Blackzillian” winning via second round TKO.

UFC Fight Night 47 goes down on August 16 from the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor, Maine. In the main event, Ryan Bader and Ovince Saint Preux will square off in a light heavyweight showdown.
