UFC Fight Night 50 Kountermove Preview

The UFC heads to Foxwoods Resort CasinoLedyard, Connecticut this Friday night for UFC Fight Night 50.

In the main event, middleweights Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza and Gegard Mousasi will face-off to get one step closer to 185-pound contender status.

A heavyweight tussle between Alistair Overeem and “Big” Ben Rothwell will serve as the evenings co-main event.

The image below is all of the prices of fighters in the UFC Fight Night 50 Kountermove games. If you are interested in playing and unsure of whom to pick for your five, we will give you a bit of our insight.

If you have never played Kountermove before, it’s very simple — you have $25,000 to spend. To make the most of your money, you will more than likely not be able to take more than one favorite. With a team of five, you will look to stay at about a $5,000 average

Best Bet

Much like the UFC 177 fight card, these bouts are all fairly well made. With the odds uber tight, I only have one “Best Bet” for you in this preview.

Al Iaquinta ($5400) – Even though Iaquinta is coming off a submission loss to Mitch Clarke at UFC 173, he is still a huge favorite in the oddsmakers books. His opponent Rodrigo Damm has yet to beat a “names, name” opponent inside the Octagon and Iaquinta will likely put another blemish on his record.

$5400 is a steep price to pay on a fighter in a Kountermove game, but this one is a must pick.

Underdog Picks

Ben Rothwell ($3800) – Many people are counting “Big” Ben out of his heavyweight tussle with Alistair Overeem. A ton of the photos that have been surfacing prior to UFC Fight Night 50 have shown Overeem to be lacking the size that we have seen from “The Demolition Man” in the past. This could either work in his favor or against him,

Rothwell is a true heavyweight and we have seen Overeem blow up against a couple of true heavyweights in Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva and Travis Browne.

Michael Chiesa ($4600) – Chiesa is on a two-fight winning streak and Joe Lauzon is definitely his toughest opponent to date.

Many of the sportsbook sites have Chiesa as the favorite in this outing. Lauzon has not tasted Octagon action since his decision win against Mac Danzig last December and while I’m sure ring rust won’t play a part in this fight, Chiesa’s drive might.

Derek Lewis ($4500) – The man known as “The Black Beast” is riding a seven-fight win streak, with his two most recent being knock outs inside the Octagon.

On the other side of the cage, Mitrione is 2-3 in his last five fights, but most recently knocked out Shawn Jordan in March. Lewis being the former Legacy FC heavyweight champion will bring some great experience to the cage and the low price tag could be a great option for your game.
