Alexander Gustafsson wants fight with Anthony Johnson at UFC 183 in January

Alexander Gustafsson in his main event tilt against Jimi Manuwa.

Alexander Gustafsson has showed interest in a fight with Anthony Johnson, but now he has a date in mind.

Both top light heavyweights have shown interest in fighting each other, and the winner would likely earn a crack at the title, against the winner of Jones vs. Daniel Cormier.

Gustafsson has an interest in fighting ‘Rumble’ at UFC 183, most likely in the co-main event.

Gustafsson (16-2), last fought Jimi Manuwa in the main event of UFC Fight Night 37 last March.  He got back into the win column with a second round TKO victory, coming off of a loss to Jones last year.

Rumble (18-4), is on an eight fight winning streak with two consecutive wins in the UFC over Antonio Rogerio Noguiera and Phil Davis.

UFC 183 is headlined by the highly anticipated middleweight fight between former champ Anderson Silva and Nick Diaz.  It takes place in Las Vegas on Jan. 31, 2015.
