UFC officials announced on Thursday evening that Sanchez is also off the UFC 180 fight card, which was initially reported by Indiscutido.

Sanchez (25-7) won a bizarre split-decision in his last outing against Ross Pearson. The winner of The Ultimate Fighter Season 1 has bounced around with wins and losses over the last couple of years. Prior to the Pearson win, he was riding a two-fight losing skid, with losses to Myles Jury and Gilbert Melendez.

UFC 180 takes place at Arena Mexico on Nov. 15 in Mexico City.  It was originally to be headlined by the heavyweight champion making his return to the Octagon for the first time in over a year, Cain Velasquez, taking on #1 contender Fabricio Werdum.  Velasquez got injured and Mark Hunt stepped in, now fighting Werdum for the interim heavyweight title.
