Strikeforce Announces Sarah Kaufman vs. Alexis Davis in Ohio

Sarah Kaufman was not pleased at all to hear that Ronda Rousey was possibly getting a title shot against Meisha Tate (which is now official). She will now be a part of a possible number one contender fight for the Strikeforce women’s 135lbs championship as the organization announced on Saturday night that she would face off against fellow Canadian Alexis Davis in March.

The bout will go down on the same card as Tate vs. Rousey, which will take place on March 3 at the Nationwide Arena in Columbus, OH.

The former champ Kaufman, lost her title to Marloes Coenen in 2010. Since that defeat she has won two in a row and looks to face-off against the champ with a win over Davis.

Davis is riding a three fight win streak with victories over Tonya Evinger, Julie Kedzie and the very highly touted Amanda Nunes. Davis looks to avenge her first professional loss to Kaufman back in 2007.
