UFC 184: Tony Ferguson Wins via First Round Submission

Kicking off the main card at UFC 184 was the fight between Tony Ferguson and Gleison Tibau. Tibau is one of the greatest lightweights to ever fight in the UFC and made his 25th appearance for the promotion. Ferguson had the opportunity to fight in front of his hometown crowd and basically guaranteed a win going into the fight.

The first round featured an serious amount of action with both fighters pushing the tempo. Ferguson was clearly the aggressor but Tibau was able to weather the early storm.

Ferguson continued to push the pace and landed some strong punches. Tibau could not handle the pressure and started taking some serious punishment after hitting the ground. As he tried to break free, Ferguson got his back and landed a quick rear-naked choke. In a matter of seconds, Tibau tapped out and Ferguson secured the finish as he promised.

At 8-1 as a UFC fighter, Ferguson is climbing the ranks and should get a top contender in his next fight. If you did not know “El Cucuy” before, you will now.
