WSOF 20 goes down this Friday night and Melvin Guillard was expected to take on Ozzy Dugulubgov in the evening’s co-main event. Unfortunately for fight fans, the organization has been forced to pull Guillard from the bout due to unforeseen reasons.

Melvin Guillard pulled from WSOF 20 co-main event

MMAJunkie.com learned from WSOF President Ray Sefo on Monday that the promotion has been unable to get ahold of Guillard at all just days prior to the event.

“It’s Monday, four days away from the fight, and we don’t have his medicals, nor have we heard from him,” Sefo told MMAJunkie Radio. “He has not responded to any of requests from our PR team to help promote the show, and we alerted his management team that if we did not receive his medicals by 10 a.m. today, we would have no choice but to pull him from the card, and unfortunately, that’s what we’ve been forced to do.”

Now that Guillard has been pulled from the card, Nick Newell vs. Joe Condon has been moved up to the co-main event slot. Dugulubgov will still take part in the evening’s card, instead of facing “The Young Asssassin,” he will now take on Lucas Montoya.

This would have been Guillard’s third appearance inside the WSOF cage. Both of the 32-year-old’s previous outings, he missed weight.
