A trilogy match between middleweight contenders Vitor Belfort and Dan Henderson has been scheduled as the main event of UFC Fight Night 77 in Brazil.
UFC officials confirmed the matchup at the UFC 190 post-fight press conference.
Vitor Belfort meets Dan Henderson for the third time in Sao Paulo headliner
Belfort is coming off a devastating first-round TKO loss to champ Chris Weidman in the co-feature of UFC 187 this past May. Prior to that, he picked up three finish wins in a row, including a knockout over top contender Luke Rockhold.
Henderson is coming off a huge upset knockout win over Tim Boetsch in the headliner of UFC Fight Night 68 in New Orleans, LA last June. Prior to that, he was stopped by contender Gegard Mousasi.
Henderson defeated ‘The Phenom’ via decision in their first outing together at PRIDE 32, but Belfort won in a rematch in 2013, knocking ‘Hendo’ out in round one.
UFC Fight Night 77 takes place live from Sao Paulo, Brazil on Nov. 7.
