Ash Mashreghi vs Curtis Harriott set for BFL 41, BFL Welterweight Championship

Ash BFL Welterweight Championship

Despite it being chilly outside, things just heated up in the lower mainland with the announcement of Ash Mashreghi vs. Curtis Harriott for the BFL welterweight championship in the Battlefield Fight League 41 main event.

Ash Mashreghi vs Curtis Harriott set for BFL 41 BFL Welterweight Championship

Mashreghi (6-3) was expected to take on a former amateur champion in Leo Xavier at BFL 38, however a health scare prior to weigh-ins forced “Smash” out of the contest and ultimately out of action for next three and a half months. Since losing his first three pro outings, Mashreghi has gone on to win his next six in a row. Including a huge submission victory against Dejan Kajic to earn the BFL 170-pound title.

Harriott (2-0) made his pro debut in July of this year after a very successful amateur career. At BFL 37 the former 170-pound amateur champ tapped out Ryan Ballingall in the very first round. He went on to win his next fight, however it came under unfortunate circumstances — his opponent Kajic injured his arm on a takedown by Harriott which forced the referee to call the fight.

BFL 41 goes down on January 22, 2016 from the Hard Rock Casino in Coquitlam, B.C. Keep it locked to MMASucka.com for more fight announcements for BFL 41 in the coming days.
