UFC 201 has a headlining bout and it’s going to be fireworks, as Robbie Lawler puts his welterweight title on the line against Tyron Woodley.
The fight was reported on FOX Sports 1’s “UFC Tonight.”

Lawler (27-10) has won five in a row, including two sucessful title defenses. Since beating Johny Hendricks at UFC 181 to earn the 170-pound gold, Lawler has gone on to TKO Rory MacDonald in the 2015 ‘Fight of the Year’ and most recently earned a split decision against Carlos Condit at UFC 195 this past January.
Meanwhile, Woodley (15-3) is riding a two-fight winning streak, with victories over Dong Hyun Kim as well as Kelvin Gastelum at UFC 183 in January 2015. The 34-year-old was expected to take on Hendricks at UFC 192 in October of last year, but “Big Rigg” was forced out of the bout due to complications with weight cutting. Since that fight Woodley was not re-booked, as he has been waiting for his long anticipated title shot.
UFC 201 goes down on July 30, 2016 from the Philips Arena in Atlanta, Georgia.
