Joe Soto replaces Cannetti on 5 days’ notice

Joe Soto vs. Marco Beltran – November 5 – Mexico City, Mexico

After a potential USADA violation from Guido Cannetti, former title challenger Joe Soto will face Marco Beltran in Mexico City on less than one weeks’ notice.

The bout and replacement were first reported by C. Contreras Legaspi.

Soto (16-5) entered the UFC two years ago as a former Bellator champion and debuted on 24h notice vs. then bantamweight champion TJ Dillashaw. After a rough start, Soto dropped a decision to Michinori Tanaka and was knocked out by Anthony Birchak. In his last outing, he submitted Chris Beal in Ottawa.

Beltran (8-3) was a semi-finalist on the debut season of ‘The Ultimate Fighter: Latin America’ as a member of Team Velasquez. He beat the man Soto will be replacing, Guido Cannetti, while on the show to make it to the semi-finals. Beltran has won three straight since joining the UFC, most recently submitting Reginaldo Vieira.

‘The Ultimate Fighter: Latin America 3 Finale’ will take place November 5 at the Mexico City Arena. It will be headlined by a very important lightweight match-up. Former champion and #2 ranked contender, Rafael dos Anjos and #3 ranked Tony Ferguson.
