Carwin Says The Reem Expects To Be In The UFC By 2012

Just seconds after his recent departure from Strikeforce rumors surfaced that Alistair Overeem would be making his way to the UFC’s heavyweight division. Dana White said he has been in constant contact with him and would like the deal to happen, but that his management company has been in the way of some things. At a recent Magic Convention in Las Vegas both Shane Carwin and Alistair Overeem were in attendance and Carwin had this to say on The Underground forum…

I had a chance to speak with him at the Magic Convention in Las Vegas (no we were not the big and tall models) and he said that he and Dana were close to a deal and he would likely be in the UFC before 2012. I think he would make a great addition to the roster.

When do you see Overeem hitting the UFC? Rumors have stated it could be as early as November for the debut of UFC on Fox. Another rumor was debuting against former Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar.
