Rampage vs. Shogun II set for later this year

The fight community has been buzzing from the words from former UFC light-heavyweight kingpin Quinton “Rampage” Jackson who has stated that he wants out of the elite mixed martial arts organization to anyone who will listen.

Moments ago on UFC Tonight the news broke that Jackson will not be getting an immediate release however he will be facing Mauricio “Shogun” Rua for the second time.

Both men are bonafide legends in the sport of mixed martial arts and have left countless memories from their times in the Pride Fighting Championships and eventually the UFC for the latter periods of their careers.

The last time they met was in 2005, Jackson was the first of four high-level opponents that Rua put away en route to earning the final Pride Middleweight Grand Prix title.

Now both men will meet by years end inside the octagon in the final UFC fight in the Hall of Fame caliber career of Jackson.
