Thiago Silva is a true warrior who will go to kill or die

On April 14 the UFC will make a stop in Sweden for UFC on FUEL TV: Gustafsson vs. Silva. The event marks the return of Thiago Silva to action following a year long layoff due to suspension. Silva will look to start the year off with a bang as he faces tough Swedish striker Alexander “The Mauler” Gustafsson in the nights main event.

Silva’s last victory came in 2009 against Keith Jardine, as his last win against Brandon Vera was turned into a no contest after failing the UFC 125 drug test. The only two men to defeat Silva (who is 14-2-1NC) are former light heavyweight champions Lyoto Machida and Rashad Evans.

The good folks at Lowkick.com caught up with Thiago Silva and this is what he had to say about Gustafsson’s skill-set.

Gustafsson is a very good fighter and I have respect for his abilities. Also, anything can happen with a great striker who is wearing the small MMA gloves. However, I’m excited by the challenge of fighting Gustaffson in his home country. I fear no one and plan on fighting a fast paced and aggressive fight that will entertain the fans.

As he said he comes to entertain and bring the pace. This is what Silva predicts will happen on April 14.

My prediction is that I will fight hard like a true warrior. Everybody knows my style. When I step in the Octagon, I go to kill or die, and I will do the same on April 14th, and I will be ten times more aggressive because this fight is very important for me.
