Kauai Knockout Championship 4 Quick Results

On Saturday, March 31st, the stage was set for Kauai Knockout Championship’s 4th event, KKC 4, at the Kauai War Memorial Convention Hall.  The house was packed, as Kauai fight fans were greeted with a stacked fight card of 14 bouts, including one amateur title belt fight.

The night started off with a 125 lb female kickboxing match, followed by a 170 lb pankration match to warm up the crowd.  In the fifth fight of the night, Kylan Gandia of Unknown Fight School excited the crowd with a quick rear naked choke submission on 808 Fight Factory’s Daniel Jones in just under a couple minutes of the first round.  In the semi-main event, Weston Victorino of the Disciples of Puhi (a crowd favorite) defeated Justin Barit of North Shore MMA just as quickly via TKO in one of the most exciting fights of the night.

The most controversial fight of the night came from the main event, the 155 lb amateur MMA title belt bout, with Justyn Perreira of No Way Fight Skool (Kauai) being crowned the new title belt holder via unanimous decision over Jonah Vistante from Sit You Down FS on Oahu.  Nonetheless, Kauai fans expressed their joy over one of their own winning the belt, although it could be argued that not everyone watched the same fight as the judges – at least not with a unanimous decision.

Overall, Kauai fight fans were treated to another night of full MMA action with this stacked fight card.  Much respect goes out to the fighters who put it on the line and stepped in the cage, especially those making their debuts that night.  The next Kauai Knockout Championship event will be held later this year in September, with the much anticipated 125 lb amateur title belt bout featuring another Kauai crowd favorite, Sergio Hurtado of Boars Nest defending his belt.
