Kyle Bochniak, Hakeem Dawodu in the works for UFC 231 in Toronto

Kyle Bochniak and Hakeem Dawodu is in the works for a potential fight at UFC 231. The event will take place on December 8th from the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Ontario.

The news was first shared about this potential featherweight bout by FloCombat. A featherweight title fight between champion Max Holloway and challenger Brian Ortega is possible to headline this event. However, nothing has yet to be officially confirmed by the UFC regarding either of these two fights.

Despite sitting at 2-3 in the UFC, Bochniak has performed well thus far in 2018. He kicked off the year strong with a unanimous decision victory at UFC 220 over Brandon Davis. His durability and heart showed true in his last fight, closing out solid against one of the UFC’s biggest prospects in Zabit Magomedsharipov. The scrap earned both “Fight of the Night” honors, and even with the loss, it put Bochniak on the map where he rightfully belongs.

Alberta’s own Dawodu entered the UFC undefeated, having every fight contested under the WSOF (now PFL) banner. A rematch with Marat Magomedov after a draw in their first meeting saw Dawodu come out victorious, earning the second round TKO. He lost his UFC debut by submission in a quick fight to Danny Henry but did manage to rebound in July with a dominant decision win over Austin Arnett.

Not much else at the time has been announced for UFC 231, but here is a look at the current lineup.

—–Max Holloway vs. Brian Ortega (TBD)
—–Gilbert Burns vs. Olivier Aubin-Mercier
—–Chad Laprise vs. Dhiego Lima
—–Antonio Carlos Junior vs. Elias Theodorou
—–Kyle Bochniak vs. Hakeem Dawodu
