Ana Julaton vs. Aya Saeid Saber completes ONE FC 15: Rise of Heroes line-up in Manila

The line-up for ONE FC’s pit-stop in Manila early next month is complete with the latest addition of a women’s match-up.

Officials today announced that Ana Julaton (0-0), from the Philippines, will meet Egypt’s Aya Saeid Saber (1-3) in the prelims at ONE FC 15: Rise of Heroes.

The event takes place May 2 at the Mall of Asia Arena in Manila, Philippines. The main card airs LIVE on Star Sports in Asia and streams online via pay-per-view for a price of US$9.99,

“Aya Saber is an experienced MMA warrior and champion in kickboxing. I know she will bring her very best on May 2nd,” Julaton stated. “I’m training for my ONE FC homecoming fight in Manila harder than ever before and what gives me strength through my ups and downs are the hearts of my Kababayan (countrymen) all over.”

A renowned fighter in the Boxing circles, Julaton is a former WBA and IBA super Bantamweight world champ. She holds black belts in Tae Kwon Do and Kenpo Karate too, and the 33-year-old will be looking to use those assets when she officially makes the transition to Mixed Martial Arts next month. It took Julaton just five fights to claim her first world title. Fight fans worldwide will undoubtedly be keen to see if the Filipino fighter has indeed what it takes to mount a similar feat in MMA.

SFL veteran Saber, will be making her promotional debut as well. The Egyptian currently resides on a three-fight losing streak after a victory in her first pro MMA appearance. The 23-year-old is also an Egyptian kickboxing champion who has primarily plied her trade in the Middle East.

“I am excited and honored to be the first female mixed martial artist from Egypt to compete in ONE FC,” Saber stated. “I can’t wait to get into the cage and beat Ana and make my fight team and family proud. Unlike Ana, I am not new to MMA. Be careful Ana, you are entering my world. I’m coming!”

ONE FC 15: Rise of Heroes will be headlined by a Bantamweight title clash between reigning champ Bibiano Fernandes (15-3) and challenger, Masakatsu Ueda (18-2-2). The likes of former ONE FC champ Kotetsu Boku, former UFC vet James McSweeney and Australia’s top Featherweight fighter, Rob Lisita, are part of the stacked running order as well.
