Anderson Silva vs. Chris Weidman II announced

In a rare occurrence, Dana White appeared on ESPN’s Sportscenter program this afternoon and announced that new middleweight champion Chris Weidman will be defending his belt against the man he beat to get it, Anderson Silva, in a rematch at UFC 168. Weidman dethroned Silva at UFC 162, punishing Silva with punches en route to a 2nd round TKO.

UFC 168 goes down Dec. 28th at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, NV. The main event of Silva vs. Weidman II replaces a rematch between Ronda Rousey and Meisha Tate for the UFC women’s bantamweight championship at the top of the card.
