Former UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva fought former UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley in a boxing match under the Jake Paul vs. Anthony Joshua card, which took place at the Kaseya Center in Miami on December 19. Both fighters started strong as the bell rang. In the first round, Woodley landed some great jabs, while Anderson Silva tried to find range and landed a great one-two combination.

However, in the second round, ‘The Spider’ pressured Woodley. He felled the former welterweight champion by a sharp left hand, followed up with a clean uppercut, and a right hand that dropped Woodley decisively. The referee stepped in and stopped the fight at one minute and 33 seconds in the second round. Anderson Silva won the fight via TKO.

“I have young kids who push me hard every day, my amazing coach too and I am just so happy to be here.” Anderson Silva said. “I wasn’t expecting a quick fight, I was taking my time. I had my ass kicked in training so I was ready.”

Silva also discussed his future career options and shared that he would move to Beverly Hills to become a police officer.

“Yes, I want to go to Beverly Hills to be a police officer. But I am not finished with fighting just yet.” Anderson Silva added. He did, however, mention that his career isn’t over and he will continue to entertain fans with his fighting performances.

Anderson Silva calls out former rival Chris Weidman

In the above-mentioned interview, Anderson Silva was asked who he wanted to fight next, and he called out his former rival, Chris Weidman.

“For Spiderman, who’s your Venom? For me it’s Chris Weidman,” he said. “I know you hurt your arm but I want to do it. Say hi to your family.”

Silva faced Weidman twice, first at UFC 162, where he got knocked out in the second round, ending his legendary 16-fight win streak. Again, they met in a rematch at UFC 168, and again the result was the same.

Now, Anderson Silva called out Weidman to avenge himself in the boxing ring. It remains to be seen if this fight will be booked in the future.
