Vancouver, B.C. – The heavyweights took to the Octagon, as former UFC Heavyweight Champion Andrei Arlovski takes on Brendan Schaub.

Arlovski took the fight to the cage and clinched with Schaub inside the first minute. A stalemate in action up against the cage for about a minute and the two broke. Schaub landed a big one-two combination, but did no damage. Schaub looked to clinch up, but Arlovski was able to push the fight back against the cage. Schaub pushed him off and took the centre of the Octagon. Schaub threw a couple big shots, which once again forced Arlovski to clinch up against the cage. The two scramble after a missed spinning back kick by Arlosvki to end the first round.

The two touched gloves to begin round two, which was followed by a low blow by Arlovski. Schaub bull rushed in a couple of times with his head down, but missed on all the punches. Arlovski landed a few shots and then clinched back up against the cage. An overhand right cut Schaub over the left eye, but did not seem to faze him. Schaub looked for a takedown with just under two-minutes left, but Arlovski was able to get back to his feet. With about a minute left the crowd opened up and began booing. Schaub landed a big overhand right followed with a clinch. The two threw bombs to end the second stanza.

Schaub once again began aggressive in the third, landing a few good combinations. On the clinch, Schaub managed to drag the fight to the ground with a trip takedown. From Arlovski’s guard, Schaub threw down punches to the head and the body. Schaub postured up a few times and threw down big punches to the skull. Arlovski managed to get back to his feet, but Schaub clinched back up against the cage. To end the fight the two threw haymakers, but none landed.
