Edmonton, Alberta’s Maximum Fighting Championship has been on the Canadian scene since 2001 when Mark Pavelich founded it. On Monday evening the organization announced something to set them apart from the rest of the MMA world — the MFC Championship Ring.

Anthony Birchak develops ‘MFC Championship Ring’; all current champs will receive one

According to Pavelich, all of the current champions will be receiving one of the rings. The President spoke to MMASucka.com about how the idea of the ring all came to fruition.

“It was brought up years ago, from the Super Bowl ring idea but current MFC Bantamweight Champion Anthony Birchak developed the idea 100%.”

Birchak was the man behind the idea — who thought of it when his brother who plays football was awarded a championship ring at the collegiate level.

“I’d love to sit at the dinner table across from him during the holiday season with my belt on but it would just look silly. Now that I have a ring of my own I feel confident in displaying I’m a World Champ in public and around my friends and family without always carrying the belt on me.” 

Originally Birchak made the ring for himself, but upon telling Pavelich, the President has now decided to create one for all current champions.

Currently, the MFC has four champions — Anthony Hamilton holds the heavyweight belt, Sam Alvey at Middleweight, Nathan Coy at Welterweight and Birchak at Bantamweight.

Many other professional sports, such as baseball, football, hockey and more have rings for their champions. The MFC Championship Ring will be developed by Deon Degannes CEO of myurbanswagga.ae.

Birchak (11-1) will be back in action on May 9 at MFC 40: Crowned Kings. The MFC will be bringing back the #PUNCHTHEVOTE campaign, as there are three title fights on the card.
