Bellator rolls along Thursday night with its fourth event in as many weeks in Bellator 253. Bellator 253 takes place at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut with a stacked card of nine bouts.
The headliner will feature the first of two semifinal bouts in the Bellator Featherweight World Grand Prix between former NCAA wrestling champion and Bellator bantamweight champion Darrion Caldwell and AJ McKee, who is undefeated in 16 professional fights, all with Bellator. The co-main event will feature an interesting welterweight matchup between former UFC lightweight champion Benson Henderson and TUF 21 cast member Jason Jackson. The main card also features another welterweight matchup between a blue-chip prospect with a dominant wrestling pedigree in Joey Davis against LFA veteran Bobby Lee. Rounding out the main card is a bantamweight showdown between two highly-touted prospects: Raufeon Stots and Keith Lee.
The preliminary card is also very impressive. It will feature a feature featherweight matchup between two UFC veterans in Jeremy Kennedy and Matt Bessette. Also on the prelims is “Baby Slice”, Kevin Ferguson Jr., as he takes on Kaheem Murray at lightweight. Another welterweight bout between prospects Jaleel Willis and Mark Lemminger will also take place.
