Biggest Winners and Losers from UFC Fight Night 67

UFC Fight Night: Condit vs. Alves (UFC Fight Night 67) was live from the Goiâna Arena in Goiâna, Brazil on May 30, 2015.

The main event saw the return of former Interim UFC Welterweight Champion Carlos Condit, as he took on Thiago Alves in a 5-round welterweight match-up that would not leave the fans disappointed.

Just like at every event, UFC Fight Night 67 saw some fighters advance their career in the right direction, whereas others came up short and had to take a step back for the time being. With that being said, check out who our biggest winners and losers from UFC Fight Night 67 are below.

Winners

Carlos Condit

At UFC Fight Night 67, Carlos Condit stepped into the octagon for the first time in over a year due to a torn ACL and partially torn meniscus that he suffered in his last fight out against Tyron Woodley at UFC 171. Condit was looking to make a successful return against Thiago ‘Pitbull’ Alves who was riding a two fight winning streak since his return to the octagon after an even longer two year layoff. ‘The Natural Born Killer’ was successful in his return as he stopped Alves via doctors stoppage after the second round concluded to taste victory for the first time since 2013. Although gone for over a year, Condit never lost his place in the rankings, as he is currently the #4 ranked welterweight in the UFC. This win will keep him at the top of the division and will get him another big fight his next time out and is likely only a few more wins away from challenging for the UFC Welterweight Championship again.

Mirsad Bektic

At UFC Fight Night 67, Mirsad Bektic stepped in the octagon for the third time as he took on his toughest challenge to date as he took on Lucas Martins. It was the best performance of Bektic’s young UFC career. The 24-year-old put on an absolutelty dominant performance on his way to a TKO victory at 30-seconds of Round 2 on his way to improving his record to 10-0. Bektic has a lot of hype behind him and rightfully so as he proved that he is one of the biggest prospects in the featherweight division.

Losers

Ryan Jimmo

At UFC Fight Night 67, Ryan Jimmo was looking to get back into the win column as he took on Francimar Barroso. The fight was a very boring one with the most notable thing being a groin shot that Jimmo suffered in the second round. Ultimately, Jimmo suffered a unanimous decision loss. It was not an impressive performance and it marks his second straight loss. Jimmo has also been very vocal about his displeasure of the new Reebok sponsorship, so it would come as no surprise if that was the last time Jimmo stepped foot in the octagon.

Norman Parke

At UFC Fight Night 67, Norman Parke was looking to bounce back from his first UFC loss as he took on Francisco Trinaldo. The fight was a very close one that did not have much action. It was certainly a controversial decision, but Parke lost via split-decision to the Brazilian in his home country. Parke seems to have a style that gets him in these situations quite often which is not the best thing for him. Parke has now lost back-to-back fights for the first time in his career and will be looking to get back into the win column his next time out.
