BKFC Fight Night Philly Weigh-Ins: Fighter Up to Old Tricks at Ceremonial Face-Offs

BKFC Fight Night Philly is almost here. Earlier this evening, the 2300 Arena, formerly known as the ECW Arena, served as the host venue for the ceremonial weigh-ins and face-offs. Tomorrow night, the venue is the setting for the card proper.

Coverage of BKFC Fight Night Philly begins with the countdown show on YouTube Friday night at 7 pm ET/ 4 pm PT before the first punch is thrown an hour later on DAZN. All told, tomorrow night’s schedule includes nine bare-knuckle contests from David Feldman’s promotion.

As we have seen time and time again when a BKFC ceremonial weigh-in window takes place, anything can happen at any moment. Thursday’s weigh-ins were no such exception to the rule.

John Garbarino Brings Out Another Cannoli at BKFC Fight Night Philly

The featured bout of BKFC Fight Night Philly on Friday night features John Garbarino (185 lbs) meeting Eric Lopez (184 lbs) in a light heavyweight contest. When both contestants posed for a photo-op at the ceremonial weigh-ins after shaking hands, Garbarino presented a cannoli to his third successive opponent.

Just like the first two times, Garbarino hit his adversary with the cannoli, leaving crumbs on Lopez’ body. Ahead of the ceremonial weigh-ins for the co-main event of the evening at women’s flyweight matching Rosalinda Rodriguez (120 lbs) and Gabrielle Roman (120 lbs), the contestants were advised to watch their step and avoid the remnants of the cannoli on the stage floor.

BKFC Fight Night Philly Main Event Cleared For Takeoff

The headlining affair on Friday night is a welterweight affair between Dustin Pague and Ryan Petersen. Both fighters came in within the contracted weight, with the former weighing-in at 164 lbs even, while the latter clocked in at 164.6 lbs.

After the face-off was complete, Petersen was interviewed on the weigh-in show about facing off against Pague tomorrow.

“This guy’s been a gentleman,” Petersen said of Pague at the BKFC Fight Night Philly ceremonial weigh-ins. “He’s been fantastic. I appreciate the opportunity, brother.” The two fighters shook hands for a second time before going their separate ways as the weigh-in show came to a close.
