Bryan Caraway earns Pat Healy’s $65K “Submission of the Night” bonus

Yesterday it was announced that Pat Healy had tested positive for marijuana in his post-fight drug test at UFC 159.

In his main card battle he defeated Jim Miller and earned himself a $65,000 bonus for “Submission of the Night.” However following the positive drug test, UFC President Dana White announced via Twitter that Bryan Caraway was awarded the “Submission of the Night” bonus.

In preliminary action he submit Johny Bedford by guillotine choke. Caraway actually negotiated the fight night bonuses from the standard $50,000 up to $65,000 prior to the event.

On the night, Healy earned not only the SON bonus, but also “Fight of the Night” as well. No word as to whether the $65,000 for that would be awarded to another fighter, but Jim Miller who took home FON as well would keep his part of it.
