“Buchecha” began his ONE career with four straight wins, all by finish. The BJJ legend appeared to be on his way to a title bid. However, “Reug Reug” Oumar Kane upset the Brazilian in a three-round war in August 2023.

Almeida is back, ready to show his progression in MMA and restate his case for being a title challenger. Standing in his way is a revitalized Aliakbari. After a rough start to his ONE tenure, the Iranian has rebounded with impressive results.
Aliakbari suffered back-to-back defeats in his first two appearances in the promotion. Upon his return, he got into the win column with four consecutive victories, including three by KO/TKO. The heavyweight powerhouse is unquestionably close to securing a coveted shot at the gold.
The stylistic matchup between Almeida’s ground game and Aliakbari’s wrestling will be exceptionally intriguing.
