Cage Warriors 155: San Diego Results

Cage Warriors, chief among the top MMA promotions in the United Kingdom and Europe, is set to make its American return to San Diego for Cage Warriors 155. The main event will see local favorite Jamey Lynch take on Dana White’s Contender Series alum and former Cage Warriors title challenger Kyle Driscoll at 155 pounds.

Fight fans can catch Cage Warriors 155 streaming live on UFC Fight Pass with the prelims set to begin at 6 p.m. PT / 9 p.m. ET. The main card is slated to get underway around 8 p.m. PT / 11 p.m. ET. and will also stream on UFC Fight Pass.

Main Event — Driscoll vs. Lynch

With Cage Warriors cultivating San Diego, Calif. as its American home base, it only made sense for the promotion to build its American brand around up-and-coming local talent. Jamey Lynch, not to be confused with MMA journalist and MMA Sucka alumnus James Lynch, fits the bill as a fighter who is constantly making improvements, is adored by the local fans and is never in a boring fight. On Friday, he will make his seventh appearance in Cage Warriors, where he holds a 4-2 record. A victory over Driscoll will make it an impressive three wins in his last four fights. He has fought each of his fights for the promotion in front of a partisan crowd, and Friday night should be no different.

As for Driscoll, the American Kickboxing Academy product should be looking to employ a wrestling-heavy game plan. The Tulsa, Okla. native wrestled at Division I Tulsa University and shares a connection to Division I wrestling in his home state with AKA’s very own Daniel Cormier. Driscoll is 8-1 in his last nine fights, even beating Dinis Paiva on DWCS via Unanimous Decision, though he would ultimately be passed over for a contract. He then made the trip across the pond to challenge Cage Warriors lightweight champion George Hardwick, chief among the sport’s brightest prospects, but fell victim to a body shot in the fourth round. He will look to right the ship against Lynch, who could be susceptible to his pressure-heavy style.

Rest of the Card

Friday’s Cage Warriors card, while short on star power, should treat the local fans in San Diego to a slew of fun fights. Moses Diaz will take on Robert Hernandez in the co-main event at 145 pounds. After dropping his professional debut, Hernandez has since railed off six consecutive wins and will looking for No. 7 against a game, unbeaten opponent in Diaz. Diaz looked like a world beater in his first four fights, but showed an ability to fight for three hard rounds against Juan Porto in his most recent fight for Combate Global. His fight with Hernandez should dazzle for as long as it lasts.

Cage Warriors President Graham Boylan is bringing over a slew of to bring over a slew of hungry fighters hailing from the United Kingdom to test some of the American Cage Warriors mainstays. English flyweight prospect Connor Wilson will take on David Lopez on the main card while two more fighters from across the pond make their professional debuts on the prelims. Francis Been will meet fellow debutant Enrique Montalvo in the flyweight division as well, and Teddy Adlington-Stringer, a 15-8 lightweight amateur, will debut against winless Bryant Shell.

Frans Sormin, the lone fighter to miss weight on Thursday, will still fight James Settle as scheduled in the bantamweight division. Sormin vs. Settle will headline the prelims.

With fights subject to change as always, be sure to stay locked in to MMA Sucka for up-to-the-minute changes and results.
