Carlo Prater Cut From The UFC Roster

Veteran welterweight Carlo Prater is the latest fighter to be released from the UFC’s ever-changing roster.

According to Ian Bain of MMA Opinion, Prater was cut from the organization following a controversial split decision defeat to Marcus LeVesseur at UFC on FX 5: Browne vs. Bigfoot.

Prater (30-12-1) fought three times in the UFC, all in 2012, going a subpar 1-2. The 31-year-old arguably should have gone 0-3 as his lone UFC victory came via disqualification after Erick Silva debatably landed a number of illegal blows to the back of Prater’s head.

As most fighters who are released look to do, the Brazilian will attempt to work his way back to the organization.

Prater holds notable career victories against Carlos Condit, Pat Healy, Melvin Guillard and Spencer Fisher.
