Over the next few weeks MMASucka will be following Kajan Johnson as he prepares for his upcoming war against Richie “Hell Boy” Whitson at MFC 31. During Week 1 Johnson took a trip with his Echelon Fight Team to Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
Last evening, Bellator Fighting Championships kicked off their season 5 at Caesar’s Atlantic City. The first card of the season featured the quarterfinals of the welterweight division. Although 3 of the 4 main card fights went to decision, each fighter did their best to prove they are worthy of a shot at the title versus the winner of Ben Askren Vs. Jay Heron.
The Bellator Welterweight Tournament began tonight at Caesar's Atlantic City in Atlantic City, New Jersey. The main card aired live on MTV2, while the prelims aired on Spike.com. The night was headlined by a bout between season four tournament fighters Brent Weedman and Chris Lozano.
This will obviously be speculated that Bellator has signed a TV deal with Spike TV, but that has not happened yet. Spike TV will however stream a 2hr preliminary card tonight for Bellator 49. The preliminary card includes, Joel Roberts vs. Brylan Van Artsdalen, Giedrius Karavackas vs. LeVon Maynard, Alexandre "Popo" Bezerra vs. Scott Heckman, Lester Caslow vs. James "Binky" Jones and Azunna Anyanwu vs. J.A. Dudley.
In a stacked card with plenty of UFC vets, BAMMA 7 is sure to deliver today. The main card is headlined by Frank Trigg and Jim Wallhead, also on the card is Paul Daley vs Jordan Radev and Andre Winner vs Jason Ball. The event takes place at the NIA Arena in Birmingham, England.
The main event fight at BAMMA 7 between Frank Trigg and Jim Wallhead was put on the back burner as Paul Daley once again has missed weight. The British bad boy weighed in six pounds over the limit today at the weigh in event for BAMMA 7.
When people talk about the Bellator tournament, everybody thinks of the welterweight division as it their deepest division and most talked about. When Ben Saunders signed with Bellator he was leery because he had previously fought in the UFC and they run a well oiled machine. After defeating Matt Lee at Bellator 39, Saunders' fears were erased.
It didn't take long for BAMMA to jump on board the Facebook ship. UFC has been airing their preliminary fights on Facebook for quite some time and now the UK organization BAMMA will do the same. Beginning with BAMMA 7, the organization will air their entire fight card LIVE on Facebook.
