Rizin has featured MMA, kickboxing, shootboxing, tag team grappling, and now can add bare-knuckle boxing to its resume. At a press conference on Thursday, Rizin CEO Nobuyuki Sakakibara announced that former K-1 kickboxer Tatsuki Shinotsuka would be one of the opponents. The other opponent has not been announced at this time but it was said it could either be a foreign or Japanese fighter.
One week ago, BYB Extreme Fighting Series, or simply BYB, hosted its 25th event, BYB 25: Brawl on the Bay, in Tampa Bay, Florida. The event featured a seven-fight main card with the third fight of the card being a welterweight scrap between 34-year-old Rusty Crowder and 28-year-old Harry Gigliotti. The fight was scheduled for three, five-minute rounds, and with neither fighter giving in to the opposition, the fight went the distance. A unanimous decision nod was given in favor of Gigliotti, and shortly after the fight, Crowder posted a gruesome pic of the damage he absorbed.
