No UFC over the extended Thanksgiving weekend? No problem! Just because MMA's top promotion is silent on the Saturday after the holiday, it doesn't make it a Saturday without the best in competitive violence.
While this fourth weekend in November has a light schedule of events in MMA, it isn't light on action. Between Friday and Saturday night, there are eight total championship fights to be held across the PFL and Cage Warriors.
Highlighting the night's itinerary is an Italian showdown in the Cage Warriors 162 main event. Rome's Simone Patrizi (6-1 MMA, 1-0 CWFC) will have the hometown crowd on his side when he takes on Verona's Dumitru Girlean (6-2 MMA, 1-1 CWFC) in a lightweight affair.
Absent of any cancellations or postponements between now and Saturday, Cage Warriors 161 features a packed 11-fight card. Highlighting the night's activities is a battle at 155 lbs. in the Cage Warriors 161 main event.
Live coverage of Cage Warriors 160 is exclusive to UFC Fight Pass, as always, this Friday afternoon. Undercard action gets going at 1:45 pm ET/ 10:45 am PT on Fight Pass, followed by the main card at 4 pm ET/ 1 pm PT.
Even though the days of summer have started to fade, the action inside the MMA cage is just starting to heat up. Friday, on the eve of UFC 293 in Sydney, Australia, UK-based Cage Warriors returns stateside for another visit to San Diego and Sycuan Casino and Resort and Cage Warriors 159.
Across the pond, the top promotion for competitive violence is Graham Boylan's Cage Warriors, a mainstay on the UFC Fight Pass schedule of events for almost seven and a half years. Periodically, Cage Warriors will head to the United States for trips to San Diego, having done so since 2021 after the COVID-19 pandemic halted traditional shows for more than a year's time. Another visit to San Diego is scheduled for next Friday, September, 8th.
