I’ll be on a team and competing at the Vancouver/Whistler Tough Mudder event on June 23rd and 24th. Me and Jeremy Brand (the head honcho of this site and good friend) are in the process of gathering a few "Merry Men and Women" to form a MMASucka Team. You can go to the Tough Mudder website and see if they are coming to your town. They will be touring major cities throughout North America. Get involved and form a team. It will be a great experience. It's not for everyone, but it sure beats killing yourself in a boring marathon. For me, I need another slap in the face of motivation. For the last few months I have fallen back into old habits [...]
Well, it's 2012, and I just finished my “vacation”. It seems as though I, like Forrest Gump have a skewed concept of “vacation”. I trained twice a day for the 10 days I had off and was more tired after then I would have been if I worked.
I’ve never been one to pull any punches (pun intended…) but I think that most people agree with my opinionated views on this side of the industry. We all know by now that I am more interested in the business side of the MMA Market and more importantly the apparel and gear.
Today we’re going to talk about one of the most neglected body parts that we as combat athletes rarely train and when we do, it’s usually just an afterthought and done at the end of a workout. This needs to change!
Hey guys, so obviously i'm not going pro yet. I am going to be fighting Ryan Allen on Feb 11th up in Vernon, BC. It will be my 7th fight inside the Battlefield Fight League cage, and my 8th amateur fight. People around here (Vancouver, BC) see that and instantly think it's time to go pro.
Why read other UFC predictions when you can you have a nice laugh in reading mine. At UFC 141 I went (3-2). Meh. I’ll throw out an old sports cliché, “the bounces aren’t going our way.” To be honest I don’t know too many people who were expecting Mark Hominick to lose the way he did and I think most of us can agree that Claude Patrick deserved a better fate against Ebersole. But we won’t cry over spilt milk, instead we will raise our glasses for another edition of MMASucka.com’s Half-Cut Picks for UFC 141.
To be honest, my focus at the time was on the Olympics. I didn’t have any Internet or knew much about anything “mixed martial arts” until I graduated from college. I was 24 years old before I even started training in boxing, jiu-jitsu, or anything. After my last wrestling match where I lost, I was at a crossroads in my life. I had a manager ask me if I wanted to fight for a living, so I prayed about it, and decided why not. I went to Vegas to train and fell in love.
It was back in November when the MMA world had a hay day on Canada's own Michael Lansberg when Chael Sonnen got up and left the set of 'Off The Record'. Well it looks like Sonnen might have forgiven Lansberg and given him a second chance. Today TSN.ca released a sneak peak at the interview which will air in its entirety today (Dec.23) at 2pm PT/5pm ET.
