Maximum Fighting Championships 33 – “Collision Course” took place at the Mayfield Trade Center in Edmonton Alberta last week. Unfortunately, unless you were there in attendance nobody in Canada had the opportunity to watch it live on television. You have to believe that MFC took a bit of a hit in the ratings department. For a promotion that has claimed to be the biggest in Canada, they can’t be too excited about not being able to have Canadians watch live fights.
MMASucka.com was live and on scene earlier today (May 3) at the Bellator 67 official weigh-ins. Canada's own Ryan Ford is set to make his Bellator debut tomorrow night at Bellator 67 against Luis Santos.
Carlin Bardsley had the opportunity to catch up with the Bellator Lightweight champion to chat over a bunch of subjects. Those included his thoughts on his upcoming fight with Gono, who he feels will win the lightweight tournament finals between Hawn and Weedman, who the best Mizzou Tiger wrestler: him, Askren or Woodley and much much more.
Remember when Alan Belcher (17-6) was the talk of the UFC’s middleweight division? As the late SNL cast member Chris Farley would say, “you..you..remember the time?” Belcher was riding high with wins over Herman, Kang, a controversial loss to Akiyama, and wins over Gouveia, and Cote. Things were looking bright and all of a sudden things were looking dim.
