The bad blood between the two combatants in Saturday’s light heavyweight title bout continued to build at today’s press conference, with both champion Jon “Bones” Jones and Quinton “Rampage” Jackson interrupting each other’s answers and tossing insults at the other.
Today's UFC 135 Pre-Fight Press Conference takes place at the Pepsi Center in Denver, Colorado. The event will feature UFC president Dana White, headliners Jon Jones and Quinton Jackson, and co-headliners Josh Koscheck and Matt Hughes.
Earlier today Dana White, UFC Heavyweight Champion Cain Velasquez and Junior Dos Santos made their way to Los Angeles, California for the UFC on Fox: Velasquez vs. JDS Press Conference. The press conference was held at the West Hollywood Hotel in Hollywood, California.
It all began with UFC 129 in April of this year. The UFC decided to let fans enjoy every fight on the card even if they weren't live at the event via their Facebook page.
Dana White explained to El Octagono that in January of 2012 that agreement will come to an end.
We’ve been a bit spoiled by the UFC with the last stretch of free fights. This summer, the TV fight cards full of title ramifications, guaranteed slugfests or big name draws. The only big name that went into the Battle of the Bayou was Jake Shields. Of the eight main card fighters he was the only one to headline a paper-view or hold a major league title. By the end of the night however, a new name was solidified as a bona fide contender to a UFC title. His name is Jake Ellenberger.
Like Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz when she says, "There's no place like home", that is what Dan Henderson is doing on November 19th.
MMAWeekly.com reported that Strikeforce Light Heavyweight Champion Dan Henderson (28-8 MMA, 4-2 UFC) has re-signed with the UFC and will be returning to face former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Mauricio "Shogun" Rua (20-5 MMA, 4-3 UFC) at UFC 139.
Included on the call are Jon Jones, Rampage Jackson, Matt Hughes and Josh Koscheck. Jon Jones and Rampage Jackson are joining us from LA where they’re doing Jimmy Kimmel Live tonight.
It was obvious from the get go that Jake Shields' strategy was to take Jake Ellenberger down in their main event fight at Ultimate Fight Night 25 this past Saturday night. Unfortunately his one and only takedown attempt was stuffed, so he tried to throw some punches. Again this did not work out for him, as FightMetric shows he threw 13 strikes, but only 1 landed.
We're bacccccccck!! Yes that's right Fatlip Radio is back and better than ever. On last nights show we welcomed from jolly ol' England, Michael "The Count" Bisping. Bisping was fresh off of the TUF 14 Conference Call and spoke with Ed from the streets of London about his feelings towards Jason 'Mayhem' Miller, his thoughts on camera's filming him on The Ultimate Fighter and of course his fight in December against Miller.
