After my last fight against Tito Ortiz, I dislocated my right thumb, which required it to be set back in place and held with pins. 24 hours ago, my physician removed the pins. At that time, I learned that it would require another three weeks of rehabilitation before engaging in any exercise or training that would require the use of my hand.
Rashed Evans just cannot seem to catch a break when it comes to getting a shot to regain the UFC Light Heavyweight Title.
With Evans still injured, Lyoto Machida (17-2 MMA, 9-2 UFC) steps in for Evans and will face UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones (14-1 MMA, 8-1 UFC) in the headlining bout at UFC 140 which will take place in Toronto.
It didn't really take much time for this season to have its first share of conflicts between competitors. Team Bisping's Diego Brandao and Marcus Brimage take a 60% power sparring session to 100% as each of them claim to only be giving back what they are being hit with. The escalation happens pretty easily as it would only take one punch thrown too hard to set it off especially with guys who are ultimately competing with each other even though they are on the same team. I'm curious what Brimage will have to say about this encounter on his next video blog at MMAsucka.com.

The last time that the UFC put on a free televised title fight was at UFC 75 in London England. It was the PrideFC and UFC light heavyweight unification fight of Dan Henderson versus Quinton "Rampage" Jackson. The reason why it was free was that the UFC was nice enough to keep us from paying $60.00 to watch a prerecorded fight during Saturday night prime time due to the time difference. Since then, it only made good business sense for the UFC to have all title fights as Pay Per View. The entrance of the Bantam Weights into the UFC it has given us the opportunity to watch another free televised title fight as they haven't been around that long, so it will give the casual fans a chance to get to know fighters like Dominic Cruz and Demetrious Johnson. For the hardcore fans, it was a nice freebie that we can watch at the comfort of our own homes and save some money, especially from the frantic pace of the fall MMA event line up.
