There could be a spot ready for Brian Stann on January 28th in Chicago, Illinois for the UFC’s first four fight show on FOX. The UFC will most likely announce who will be fighting on that card in the coming days. Nothing is for sure but Brian Stann's involvement would make the most sense. You have a Silver Star Marine who is not only a war hero but a pretty talented fighter. He is somebody the American audience could gravitate to.
Last nights UFC 139 main event was an epic match-up and possibly one that will be recognized as Fight of the Year. Many people however believe that the fight between Dan Henderson and Mauricio "Shogun" Rua was scored incorrectly. MMA's best media sources and fans alike thought that the fight ended in a draw.
The picture tells the story. Last night in the UFC 139 co-main event, Wanderlei Silva and Cung Le went to war. The fight wasn't relevant in terms of the middleweight division, but it was one for the fans to cheer for. We read so many tweets yesterday that read "Oh my god Sandstorm" or "War Wandy", it's amazing how much respect both these fighters have.
UFC 139 went down last night in San Jose, California. Most of the nights big winners stuck around following their fights and chat with the media. Thanks to Karyn Bryant ofMMAHeat.com and Ariel Helwani of MMAFighting.com for locking down these killer post-fight interviews.
In a night with plenty of spectacular fights it must have been tough for the UFC to determine who they would give their bonuses to. UFC 139 gave an amazing showing to the fans at the HP Pavilion in San Jose, California. Dan Henderson and Mauricio "Shogun" Rua went to war for 5 rounds
What a night of fights in San Jose, California. UFC 139 was one for the ages with Dan Henderson winning a very close decision over Mauricio Rua, Wanderlei Silva KO's Cung Le in a battle for the ages and Urijah Faber put on an amazing performance, submitting Brian Bowles. Most of the nights main card winners will be in attendance at the post fight press conference.
Tonight the UFC is set to invade San Jose, California for the first time ever. The main event is a light heavyweight showdown that is reminiscent of a good ol' PRIDE fight between Dan Henderson and Mauricio "Shogun" Rua. The co-main event is a bout between Wanderlei Silva and UFC newcomer and Strikeforce Veteran Cung Le.
Marcus Brimage can talk, but there was not much to talk about this episode other than the fight between TJ Dillashaw and Dustin Pague. Oh ya, and the awesome coaches air hockey game.
Before we move to my Half-Cut: UFC 139 picks, my beer choice for this event is Pilsner Urquell. The name literally means "pilsner from the original source," making it the only true Pilsner in the world. Experts and judges have given Pilsner Urquell a score of 93 points, which is the highest rating ever given to a pilsner style lager.
The UFC 139 fighters took to the scales today at the HP Pavilion in San Jose, California. The main event fighters Dan Henderson and Mauricio "Shogun" Rua both made weight easily, whereas a bunch of other fighters on the card had troubles making weight.
