Cage Fury Fighting Championships is back at Parx Casino in Bensalem, Pennsylvania to host CFFC 113: Sears vs. Velasco. Tonight, Cage Fury returns to the Philly-area to deliver 9 fights and a title fight in both Amateur and Pro MMA.
The main draw of the evening will be between Kevin Sears (9-6) and Greg Velasco (4-0) in CFFC’s heavyweight division. Starting his amateur career in 2011, Sears has come a long way and has the clear edge in experience in this matchup. Now at 36 years old, Sears is looking to stop the young prospect in his tracks. Greg Velasco on the other hand has spent most of his young fight career with the promotion. He’s gone an impressive 5-1 as both a pro and amateur for CFFC with his lone loss coming from a split decision as an amateur against UFC newcomer, Hamdy Abdelwahab.
The co-main slot features a middleweight bout between two fighters looking to avenge their first pro loss. David Gladfelter (3-1) is a very tall fighter for middleweight and has a good reach to go with it. Gladfelter has shown off a very complete game with a variety of different finishes on his resume. Whether it’s on the feet or on the mat, Gladfelter looks to use all of his tools to get the job done tonight. Earl Small (4-1) is a very impressive grappler who has already landed a kimura and a twister in his pro career. Coming off of his first career loss by split decision, Small plans to remind everyone tonight just how dangerous his grappling can be.
Some other fighters to keep an eye on throughout the evening would be undefeated prospects Josiah Harrell (5-0) and Tracy Reeder (5-0) as both men look to give each other their first pro loss. CFFC vet Santo Curatolo (6-3) looks to bounce back in his 9th fight for the promotion. Tiger Schulmann product Robert Varricchio (2-0) makes his CFFC debut after starting his career with two first-round finishes. There’s also Johnson Nasona (0-1) who was an impressive 20-3 as an amateur fighter despite starting his career with a loss.
