MMASucka.com has confirmed with officials from Rebel Fighting Championship that a replacement has been sought for the injured Cristiano Kaminishi (8-1, 2 NC) , who was scheduled to take on Doo Hwan Kim (5-2) in the main card of the promotion’s inaugural event this weekend.
As previously reported, Kaminishi was forced to pull out of the bout because of a nagging back injury.

But Chris Hofmann (0-0) has stepped up to the plate on short notice and he now looks set to make his pro MMA debut on Saturday’s fight card. Hofmann is a native of the Philippines who fights out of Team Deftac, a stable that has to date produced the likes of URCC vet Reydon Romero among many others. With experience lying feebly in the corner of Hofmann, facing Doo Hwan Kim will undoubtedly be a big step-up in competition for the Filipino fighter.
Nicknamed “The Rhino”, Doo Hwan Kim is a former PXC competitor and a member of the famed Korean Top Team. He was last seen at Top Fighting Championship’s debut event in June, where he notched a split decision victory over Hae Jun Yang.
Rebel FC 1: Into the Lion’s Den takes place December 21st at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.
With seven Amateur MMA preliminary match-ups scheduled for the undercard, five professional MMA bouts will take the spotlight on the main card.
The headliner features a 145-lbs contest between Australia’s Rob Lisita (12-5) and Japanese MMA icon, Takeshi Inoue (21-8). Singapore’s own Syafiq Samad (2-0) competes on home turf for the first time as he locks horns with Korean Top Team’s Gyo Pyung Hwang (3-3) at 155-lbs. “TUF: Brazil” alumni Marcos Vinicius (20-5-1) fights for the first time post-UFC in a 135-lbs match-up with Taiyo Nakahara (13-7), while Glenn Sparv (7-2) vs. Alberto Mina (9-0) at Welterweight rounds off the night’s main card.
