Actor Chris Pratt has apologized to Israel Adesanya after he critiqued the UFC middleweight champion’s successful title defense over Jared Cannonier in the main event of UFC 276 on July 2.
Adesanya reacted to Pratt’s criticism with a video of Pratt’s character getting smashed in the face with a keyboard in the 2008 film “Wanted.” Keys from the keyboard spelled out “F— YOU” after hitting Pratt’s character.
“Good morning. 🙂 I’m the man. You’re just some fan,” Adesanya tweeted.
Pratt responded with an apology to the middleweight champ.
“You’re right,” he tweeted. “I’m sorry brutha. It bugs me when people criticize my work- having never themselves risked anything. It makes me a hypocrite to do exactly that to you. My bad. Keep on keeping on champ.”

Pratt attended UFC 276 from the curtain-jerking prelim all the way through the main event. He was critical of the action in the main event, which saw Adesanya defeat Cannonier through a methodical game plan.
“I’m going to say this as humbly as I can, as a guy who’s never stepped inside the octagon,” Pratt told those on the UFC desk. “I don’t know this game. I’m just an actor. I’m not a fan, man. I’m not a fan of coming out with all that talk and then just putting on a little bit of a pitter-patter. I’m like, ‘Come on, man. You’ve got to cash on that. You’ve got to cash that promise of being a badass.”
Adesanya called out Pratt’s criticism, prompting the acting star’s apology.
