Ciryl Gane vs. Jairzinho Rozenstruik – UFC Vegas 20 Preview

Ciryl Gane and Jairzinho Rozenstruick will headline Saturday’s UFC Vegas 20 card. It’s a clash between two strikers with crazy heavy hands. This is one of those fights where whoever lands a telling shot first, will leave the octagon the winner.

Ciryl Gane vs. Jairzinho Rozenstruik Preview

Ciryl Gane

Ciryl Gane has gone a perfect 4-0 since joining the UFC ranks and has done so very impressively. In those contests, he’s won three fights via stoppage and went the distance defeating Tanner Boser. In his last fight, he looked sharp in defeating Junior Dos Santos with an elbow in the second round. He enters this fight with Rozenstruik with a professional record of 7-0.

Jairzinho Rozenstruik

Jairzinho Rozenstruik is 11-1 as a professional and simply put, he has thunder in his fists. If he lands a clean shot on your chin, you’re going to go to sleep. He’s 5-1 in the UFC and all five of those fights came via stoppage. His lone defeat in the UFC came at the hands of Francis N’Gannou. There’s certainly no shame in that. “Bigi Boy” wants to stand and bang, you don’t have to worry about him taking you down and looking for submissions. It will be interesting to see how his gas tank holds up over five rounds.

The Match-up

From the time this fight was announced, I’ve been amped. This is a fun match-up between two guys who will be looking to land big shots and send their opponent on the mat for a nap. Ciryl Gane has the advantage in terms of technical striking and speed. He is the more athletic of the two and would seemingly be better built for a lengthy fight. If Gane can utilize his leg kicks, jabs, and control distance and this into the later rounds, it will almost certainly benefit him.

On the flip side, he’s going to have to be very careful, because Rozenstruik has the power edge and can put you to sleep with either hand, at any time. This is as close to a “can’t miss”main event as we’ve had in a while. My gut tells me Ciryl Gane will take the fight into the fourth round and finish it via TKO.
