Combate Global: Hernandez vs. Meneses Results

The penultimate Combate Global event of the year will see a pair unbeaten women’s atomweights jockey for position in the rankings. Mexico’s Daniela Hernandez will Spain’s Andrea Meneses in a fight that will be sure to please fans of the promotion.

Fight fans can stream Combate Global: Hernandez vs. Meneses, in full, on Paramount+, beginning at 11 p.m. ET/8 p.m. PT.

Hernandez vs. Meneses

Hernandez (3-0) and Meneses (4-0) have achieved their perfect records with little difficulty early in the professional careers. Hernandez is 2-0 inside “La Jaula” with both of her victories coming by way of decision, most recently defeating Diana Mendoza at Combate Global 34. She did pick up a submission victory, however, in her pro debut, a straight armlock against Karen Manzo her native Mexico. The sub-five foot fighter out of Monterrey, Nuevo León has the ability to attack opponents dynamically, whether on the feet or on the mat, and can earn another decision if she can impose her will on Meneses. Hernandez is also a bronze medalist wrestler, earning third-place at the world championships in 2019.

Meneses has gone 2-0 with Combate this year after debuting with the promotion in April at Combate Global 33. Like her opponent, she finished her professional debut and has picked up decision victories ever since. Whereas Hernandez has shown an ability to win moments no matter whether standing or grounded, Meneses prefers to strike. If she can keep upright against Hernandez, fans of the promotion could be in for one of the most exciting Combate women’s fights of the year.

Rest of the Card

The three-fight main card portion of Friday’s broadcast will be filled out with a lightweight fight between two of the promotion’s most legitimate prospects in the weight class. Jose Ferreira can move to an impressive 1-0 with a victory over Genier Penagos, but to do it, he will have to navigate the power of the Venezuelan, who has four knockouts on his record. A 150-pound catchweight bout between Tino Gilaranz and Jordan Beltran is also on tap for the three-fight main card.

Pierre Daguzan will fight Hector Ferral Perez on the prelims at a 140-pound catchweight. Meanwhile, former Northwestern Oklahoma State University football player Jimmie Pace Jr. is set to make his pro debut, as well as an impression on Combate fans when he takes on Al Gonzales at 170 pounds.
