Combate Global: Horror in La Jaula Results

Combate Global makes its return for a special Sunday show live from Cisneros Studios in Miami, “The Horror in La Jaula” will be headlined by a bantamweight fight between Ismael Zamora and Anas Azizoun.

Fight fans can stream Combate Global: Diaz vs. Porto, in full, on Paramount+, beginning at 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT.

Main Event – KRAKEN vs. Azizoun

Sunday’s main event will pit talented Mexican striking prospect, Ismael Zamora against a former 19-1-1 French kickboxer in Anas Azizoun. “KRAKEN” has the capability of finishing the fight from several different positions and enters Sunday’s special event on a roll competing for Combate. The 22-year-old has won four straight fights with finishes within the first two rounds in each contest. Three of those finishes came by way of knockout or TKO, but one came by armbar, which could represent the path to least resistance for him.

As a 1-0 professional in MMA, Azizoun actually won by submission in his pro debut, beating Dalibor Bogdanov at Hard Fighting Championship 20. Sunday will represent a considerable step up in competition for the Frenchman. However, it will also present an opportunity for the Frenchman to make an impression in front of a North American audience. A convincing win for either fighter should put them firmly on the radar of Combate bantamweight champion, David Martinez. Martinez defeated Axel Osuna for the vacant title in an exciting contest earlier this month.

Rest of Card

The co-main event of Sunday’s Combate card will see Fabia Sintes meet Enzo Perez in another big bantamweight fight for the promotion. Perez, who trains out of Las Vegas, will be aiming to bounce back from a narrow split decision loss to Luis Fernando Chavez in his promotional debut. Sintes, meanwhile, will look to keep the good times rolling as he searches for his third-consecutive win after a 1-2 start to his career.

Elsewhere on Sunday’s card, American Landry Ward (6-1) will collide with Italian Gianluca Rocca (6-2) in the featherweight division. The fight will mark Rocca’s return to Combate for the first time since dropping a decision for Venator FC in his native Italy. Also, Roger Blanque is tapped to fight Carlos Mascorro at 125 pounds, and Claudia Villalobos will mix things up with Andreia Filipa Pinto Da Conceicao in the MMA debut of both women. Sunday will also feature a post-lim fight between Melissa Amaya and Alitzel Mariscal at women’s flyweight.
